Dubai World Expo

World Expos are one of the oldest and largest international events on the planet and take place every five years. The Expo will be the Middle East’s first world’s fair. It is a festival for all, where everyone can experience, explore, innovate, and have fun by sharing ideas and working together. We’re talking eye-catching, mind-bending, taste bud-tickling, grin-inducing, good-weird, did-that-really-just-happen fun.

ITINERARY

Day 1: Dubai

Upon arrival at the Dubai International Airport, you will be transferred to the Al Khoory Atrium Hotel, set in the heart of New Dubai. Arrive early and enjoy the hotel’s infinity pool or take a short walk to the Mall of the Emirates. We will get together for a meet and greet and optional dinner tonight.

Day 2: Dubai – Old Town and Miracle Garden

After breakfast we will be accompanied by our local guide for a fabulous morning discovering Dubai’s Old Town, home to traditional markets, authentic meals and cultural experiences. A ride on a wooden Abra boat across scenic Dubai Creek takes us to the historical quarter of Al Bastakiya, dating back to the 19th century and is the oldest residential quarter in Dubai. We will tour around the maze-like streets to admire the original architecture of this neighborhood established by merchants. The buildings are completed with wind towers that illustrate an era before air conditioning. Explore the 225-year old Fort Al Fahidi which houses the Dubai Museum including rare authentic monuments, antique pottery, weapons, local boat models and bamboo houses with traditional furniture.

Enjoy a few hours of free time for lunch and shopping in the old part after our tour. The Souk is a fantastic place to shop for souvenirs, you can find the typical gifts such as magnets and mugs to more unique items like camel milk soap and Emirati clothing. You must haggle to get the best possible price. The gold souk is a great place to purchase gold or to simply better understand the jewelry market in Dubai. We will also see the largest gold ring in the world.

This afternoon we drive out to the famous Dubai Miracle Garden, featuring over 45 million flowers planted in different shapes. While a full-fledged garden in a desert is a rarity, Dubai in its true majestic self, presents the world’s largest natural flower garden. Going over and above the usual display of flowers and flowerbeds, the Miracle Garden of Dubai offers over 120 flower varieties including sunflowers, petunias, geraniums, and marigolds; arranged in an array of vertical and horizontal landscaping designs that range from quirky to elegant.

Dhows have been the traditional ships used in the UAE for many centuries and tonight we have the chance to board one of these vessels and enjoy a sumptuous buffet while we quietly cruise by the landmarks of Dubai.

Day 3: Dubai – Burj Khalifa – Dubai Mall – Dubai Frame at Night

Today we tour Modern Dubai from the top of the Burj Khalifa to the Dubai Marina, an awe-inspiring city-within-a city. Upscale yachts cruise through the large man-made marina, where activities range from jet-skiing to skydiving.

The Burj Khalifa, the tallest building in the world is located inside the Dubai Mall, the world’s largest and most-visited retail and entertainment destination. After our swift fifty second ride to the 124th floor we arrive. At the Top’ observation deck for amazing views. Step out onto the public outdoor observation terrace overlooking the ever growing skyline. Enjoy free time for lunch and exploring the Mall, with over 1,300 retail outlets and over 200 food and beverage outlets. The Mall features the Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, an Olympic-sized Ice Rink, an amazing waterfall with divers and much more.

We will also see Palm Jumeirah, the world’s largest artificially made island abundant with opulent hotels and homes; have a photo stop at the iconic Atlantis Hotel; and visit the Souk Madinat Jumeirah with its meandering paths and a bazaar-like atmosphere.

Day 4: World Expo (All Day and Night)

Be prepared for a day of fun and an experience of a lifetime, the Dubai World Expo. Digital theatre and dance routines, acrobats and poetry slams, fashion shows and roaming entertainers – enjoy cultural experiences from five continents that’ll excite your senses and touch your heart. Each participating country will have its own pavilion, plus there will be a pavilion for each of the main themes – sustainability, mobility and opportunity. There are 192 country pavilions featuring narratives from every corner of the globe so visit your favorite countries and discover new places you’ve never considered. It could change the way you see the world.

Don’t worry night owls, the fun doesn’t stop at sundown. Once evening arrives, pyrotechnics displays and concerts are among the entertainment to keep us enthralled into the early hours.

Day 5: Abu Dhabi – Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque – Louvre Museum

Abu Dhabi is the capital of the U.A.E. Abu Dhabi translated in Arabic implies father of the gazelle a tribute to the hordes of gazelles and Arabian oryxes that once flocked the arid emirates desert. Today Abu Dhabi is among the world largest producers of oil and one of the richest cities in the Middle East and a one hour drive from Dubai.

We will visit Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the largest in the world. With a capacity for an astonishing 40,000 worshipers. It features 82 domes, over a 1,000 columns, 24 carat gold gilded chandeliers and the world’s largest hand knotted carpet. The main prayer hall is dominated by one of the world’s largest chandeliers – 32 feet in diameter, 49 feet in height and weighing twelve tonnes.

Our tour continues into the heart of the city, Union Square before we drive down the Corniche. Located in Al Shindagha near Dubai Creek is the Heritage and Diving Village which gives us a fascinating insight into Dubai’s pearl diving past and wider history. The coin and stamp collections reveal much of the country’s past and the Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum House is a lesson in traditional architecture.

Visit the Louvre Museum, opened in 2017 presents both ancient and contemporary works of historic, cultural, and sociological interests from around the world. The museum is not, in any way, a copy of the French Louvre; its collection, which includes loans from French institutions, as well as works from its own currently-developing compilation, is presented in an original manner.

Our day in Abu Dhabi will conclude at the famous Abu Dhabi Marina Mall, home to hundreds of luxury shops and souvenir stores.

Day 6: World Expo (All Day and Night)

One day is not enough time to see a World Expo so today we have our second opportunity. We will start our day after breakfast and stay at the Expo till late evening.

Day 7: Desert Safari – Dune Bashing – BBQ Dinner

After six busy days and nights, take time to relax this morning. Enjoy a leisurely breakfast and relax at the hotel’s outdoor pool.

Late this afternoon we’ll drive across the mystic sands of the Dubai Desert for dune bashing. The thrill begins as our guide drives us up and down the golden sands of Arabia before stopping on the highest sand dune, for a breathtaking view. This is your opportunity to experience the thrill of sand-boarding. Upon reaching the desert there will be a photo op with Falcons. Then we drive on to a Bedouin campsite to enjoy our evening. Be adventurous, try a camel ride and get a henna tattoo before we dine on our barbecue dinner. As the stars come out an enchanting belly dancer performs a fascinating routine to Arabian music. Complete the experience with your very own shisha pipe, available in many aromatic flavors before heading back to our hotel.
